Doro Camp is located along Sweden’s Northern Cape route, the E45! Whether you’re on your way to see the Arctic Circle, the Northern Cape or the Aurora Borealis in Porjus, you’ll always pass by Doro Camp.

Dorotea lies 170 km north of Östersund, 985 km north of Gothenburg and 785 northwest of Stockholm. Distances in Sweden are large, but the roads are never busy. The speed limit ranges between 90 and 110 kilometres an hour. We’re also easily reachable in winter. The government does a good job of keeping the E45 free of snow. A set of good winter tires should suffice.

Ferry

From Western Europe, Sweden is easily reached by ferry. There are lines operated by various companies that travel from Germany, Denmark, Poland, Estonia and Finland to Sweden. Take a look at the websites of Stenaline, Scandlines, DFDS and Tallink for more information and ferry times.

Train

Doro Camp has its own railway station! This way you won’t have to haul your luggage a long way from the station to the campground. Simply get off at the campground and you can immediately pitch your tent or spend the night in one of the stugas or apartments. The Inlandsbanan train company stops at the campground’s station every day during the summer season (3rd of June through 25th of August). The track runs from Kristinehamm in the south to Gällivare in the north, and is 1300 kilometres long. It is the perfect way of coasting past Sweden’s prettiest spots. You can find the train times on the Inlandsbanan website and at our reception desk.

Airplane

55 kilometres north of Dorotea is the nearest airport, Vilhelmina. From Vilhelmina airport, you can take an ‘air taxi’ to Dorotea. You can also rent a car at Vilhelmina. Take a look at the Vilhelmina Airport website, where you can order an air taxi (note that information is only available in Swedish under the heading ‘Till och Från). Alternatively, feel free to contact us, and we’ll help you out.

The cheaper airlines (such as Ryanair) primarily fly to Stockholm Skavsta airport. This aiport is located 100 km south of Stockholm. A Flygbussarna bus goes from Stockholm Skavsta to Stockholm Cityterminalen. It is an 80-minute trip. Tickets for this bus can be bought at the airport or online through Flygbussarna’s website. The bus goes regularly and you’ll always be able to find a connection because the buses wait for flights to come in. Another Flygbussarna bus goes from Stockholm Cityterminalen to Stockholm Arlanda airport, which takes 40 minutes.
