Daytrip on the Inlandsbanan

Because Doro Camp has its own Inlandsbanan rail station, it is possible to take the train on a day trip to for instance Storuman. Get a different perspective of Sweden! The reception is happy to advise you about train times and provide you with tips to make your train ride a great one.

Chainsaw carving

Meet artist Kenneth Nielsen, renowned for his exquisite wooden sculptures crafted with a chainsaw. One of his notable works is the large Lapland sign along the E45. You can admire his chainsaw art pieces here. A visit to his garden is well worth it, where you can marvel at numerous splendid sculptures he meticulously crafted by hand, without any other tools.

From his garden, you can also explore the “Björn Stigen” trail, where you can search for hidden sculptures. Kenneth Nielsen is celebrated for his depictions of Lapland’s wildlife and also creates gnomes in various shapes and sizes. To get a better sense of his work, check out his YouTube page.

Wildlife Lapland

Want to see a brown bear in the wild at least once in your life, or would you like to snap a picture of one to add to your natural photography collection? Spend the night in a comfortable observation hut and come into close contact with all of Swedish Lapland’s natural beauty!

The hut has windows all around, comfortable chairs, camera holes and a toilet, and comes with 4 beds for those who wish to nap for a bit. Shooting range

Hunting has long been an integral part of Swedish life. Generation after generation has grown up learning to hunt. If you’d like to know what it’s like to hold actual guns used for hunting, then here’s your chance!

On Dorotea’s shooting range, you’ll learn the ins and outs of these weapons under the guidance of an experience marksman, and, more importantly, you’ll get to shoot them! Here’s your chance to learn how to shoot a rifle and shotgun. You’ll shoot the rifle on the 100- and 80-metre ranges, and use the shotgun for skeet shooting.
