Wildlife safari

We are glad to take you with us into the wilds of Swedish Lapland to discover nature and wildlife. We’ll set out by car to look for the area’s most famous wildlife species: elks, beavers, wolverines, lunx, foxes, owls, black grouse and other birds. Perhaps we’ll even encounter the formidable brown bear! We’ll also be looking for animal tracks, which of course only adds to the excitement!

Daytrip on the Inlandsbanan

Because Doro Camp has its own Inlandsbanan rail station, it is possible to take the train on a day trip to for instance Storuman. Get a different perspective of Sweden! The reception is happy to advise you about train times and provide you with tips to make your train ride a great one.

Chainsaw carving

In the summer, our parking lot becomes the workspace of artist Kenneth Nielsen, who uses his chainsaw to carve wood into art. The large Lapland sign placed along the E45 was also made by him. We put his chainsaw carvings on display at our campground, where they are also for sale. You can make an order for any special requests you might have. It is also worth just paying Kenneth a visit. His backyard is strewn with many beautiful sculptures that he’s made with just his chainsaw and nothing else.

From his backyard you can walk the “Björn Stigen”, along which you’ll be looking for all the hidden sculptures. In his sculptures, Kenneth Nielsen captures Lapland’s diverse wildlife, as well as gnomes in all manner of sizes and shapes. Check out his website to get an impression of his work.

Wildlife Lapland

Want to see a brown bear in the wild at least once in your life, or would you like to snap a picture of one to add to your natural photography collection? Spend the night in a comfortable observation hut and come into close contact with all of Swedish Lapland’s natural beauty!

The hut has windows all around, comfortable chairs, camera holes and a toilet, and comes with 4 beds for those who wish to nap for a bit. Wildlife Lapland puts much emphasis on the brown bear, but the night might also bring foxes, wolverines, elks, golden eagles and other large birds of prey to your doorstep! Need more information? Shooting range

Hunting has long been an integral part of Swedish life. Generation after generation has grown up learning to hunt. If you’d like to know what it’s like to hold actual guns used for hunting, then here’s your chance!

On Dorotea’s shooting range, you’ll learn the ins and outs of these weapons under the guidance of an experience marksman, and, more importantly, you’ll get to shoot them! Here’s your chance to learn how to shoot a rifle and shotgun. You’ll shoot the rifle on the 100- and 80-metre ranges, and use the shotgun for skeet shooting.
